Don't give up hope. I have many customers who experienced the very same, and are now successfully wearing Simple Beauty Minerals powder foundation.
Can I get a witness?
If you are using Simple Beauty Minerals Foundation, please step up and tell your story!
Let's discuss the 'why' and the 'how'.
You really need to try this foundation.
The big kahuna in the Mineral Makeup Industry (no need to be a name dropper, right?) has many fans.
It also has many women who can not use it.
Some give up, thinking that minerals, over all, are not for them.
Usually what is experienced is an itchy, uncomfortable rash.
Well, I have good news for you!
The reason many women can not use the big name brand is it contains an ingredient called bismuth oxychloride .
This ingredient gives a lovely glow, but is also an irritant.
Simple Beauty Minerals does not use this ingredient.
I have many customers who had reactions to Bare Minerals (oops, who said that?) and can use Simple Beauty Minerals with comfort and aplomb.
What is the real difference between higher end brands and the drug store variety?
Also, don't be fooled by the cheap pricing and fabulous packaging at the drug stores or mass market stores.
Dig a bit.
Read the ingredients.
How many do you see on the list?
I picked up a box at Kohls Department store last week when shopping with my son for jeans.
The box looked impressive; it caught my eye.
One look at the ingredient listing and I put the box down, shaking my head in dismay.
Too many unnecessary ingredients.
Use the good stuff.
It does make a difference.
How do you use a mineral foundation?
1. With minerals, it is very important to moisturize your skin first.
Even if your skin leans towards oilier, and your serum serves dual purpose as antioxidant support and moisturizer.
So after you cleanse and tone, always use a good quality moisturizer that meets your skins needs, as well as an eye creme.
Let your skin drink them up before you begin your makeup.
This is a good time to make your bed, drink your tea, or respond to a quick email.
If you apply your foundation too soon, before your moisturizer has settled in, your minerals may not go on as smooth as they should.
Note: If you are using a moisturizer which contains silicones, it is very important to let it sit, otherwise it may blotch up when you apply your mineral foundation.
OK, it's time to come on back now and begin with primer and concealer.
2. You need a clean application brush such as the Ultimate Kabuki, the Flat Top Buffer or the Foundation Air Brush, plus a towel or tissue to protect your counter space, your mineral powder, good natural lighting, and a mirror.
Lay out your towel/tissue and place your products on top.
To apply, remember these words: Swirl-Tap-Buff...
This is your mineral mantra.
3. Tap a small amount, and I do mean small, as in a 'Dash" into the lid of your jar.
Dip your soft as silk foundation brush into the dash of minerals and swirl it around until all of the minerals are nestled into the brush fibers.
Now take your brush and tap it right side up; this will help to settle the mineral powder down into the bristles.
Make sure the brush bristles are facing upward toward the ceiling when you do this.
Finish by tapping any excess off by tapping the brush on the side of the lid.
Then begin gently buffing the brush (applying gentle pressure) in circular motions onto your face.
Pick up more mineral foundation and swirl, tap, buff as needed.
Apply one layer for very sheer, light coverage of the mineral foundation.
Apply two or three layers for more coverage.
At this point, if you feel you need to, take a silky, vegan concealer brush for detail work and touch up any areas that need just a wee bit more help.
Once you have your foundation on, let it cook. If it looks dry or pasty, let it cook.
By this I mean, let it sit.
The oils in your skin will combine with the minerals and the color will shift to look more natural and the texture will change as well.
This is a very important step in your mineral application.
You are now ready for your color cosmetics.
You skin should be glowing!
