body care over 50 crepey skin and dark spots

As we age, our skin goes through various changes, which can lead to dryness, crepiness and age spots.

Seriously? Can we catch a break, please?

However, with a little work, and the right products, you can improve and maintain healthy, smooth and radiant skin over your entire body.

In a recent episode of our Living Visibly Over 50 Podcast, Linda and I had a chat about our ultimate bodycare routine, especially as we age, to get rid of crepey skin, dryness and dark spots.

You need more than just a body lotion or creme. You need...

exuviance exfoliant body care

Exfoliants:

  1. Glycolic Acid: This alpha-hydroxy acid is a chemical exfoliant that when used regularly can help reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and age spots.

  2. Lactic Acid: Another alpha-hydroxy acid, lactic acid is a bit gentler of an exfoliant than glycolic, that can help improve skin texture and tone.

When it comes to hydration look for...

Hydration:

  1. Shea butter: This natural ingredient is rich in fatty acids and vitamins, making it a great choice for nourishing and hydrating dry, aging skin.

  2. Hyaluronic acid: This humectant can hold up to 1000 times its weight in water, making it an excellent ingredient for boosting skin hydration.

  3. Niacinamide: Also known as vitamin B3, this ingredient can help improve skin elasticity and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

  4. Allantoin: This soothing ingredient can help calm irritated skin and boost moisture levels.

You may need additional...

body care tools

Spot Treatment:

  1. Retinoids: These vitamin A derivatives are powerful anti-aging ingredients that can help reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and age spots.

  2. Tretinoin: This prescription-strength retinoid can be especially effective for treating fine lines and wrinkles.

Use the like to spot treat stubborn dark spots.

All this is all moot if your not using...

tizo sunscreen

Sun Protection:

Protecting your skin from the sun is crucial to preventing premature aging and reducing your risk of skin cancer. Make sure to:

  • Wear sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 on exposed skin, every day, even on cloudy days.
  • Wear protective clothing, such as a hat and sunglasses, when spending time outdoors.
  • Daily, did I say wear sunscreen daily? On the entirety of your exposed skin.

Taking care of your skin as you age requires a combination of exfoliants, hydration, spot treatments, and sun protection. By incorporating these tips into your skincare routine, you can help keep your skin looking healthy and youthful.

It's shorts time!
