One of the *really* cool things about mineral makeup is how customizable it is. Seriously, there are so many different ways to apply it based on what your individual preferences and needs that there truly is a way for everyone to use it and love the results! Enter mineral makeup concealers.

 

Does Using a Powder Concealer Seem Awkward?

Applying concealer in powder form can seem a little funny. It’s one of those products that you might prefer to use with a more traditional, creamier application. Perhaps you are worried about applying too much product and having the powder settle into fine lines throughout the day. Or maybe you just want super full coverage and feel that a creamy concealer would allow you to best achieve that look. Or, you tend to have dry skin and prefer to not overuse powdery products on it. Hey. We get it. Sometimes you just don’t want to use a powder concealer, and that’s ok! It is super simple to turn your powder mineral concealers into full coverage, creamy concealers with products you already have lying around! You can mix up the perfect blend in less than a minute (honestly, it probably takes less than 10 seconds once you get the hang of it!). And today, we are going to show you how! 

Light to Medium Coverage

The first option for a more natural and light to medium coverage look is to mix up your desired mineral concealer with a little dab of your favorite moisturizer (might we recommend the Olive Oil Light Lotion?). Depending on how much you want, take a little bit of moisturizer (start off small, it’s much easier to add more of this later rather than continuing to add in more concealer to achieve the right result which can end up wasting product!) and then sprinkle on a dash of concealer, and mix it up! I chose to mix mine with my favorite pink blending sponge because I was using that to apply the product right after as well, but you could mix this up with your finger or any preferred applicator as well. It mixes together so easily, the powder disappears right away leaving you with a beautiful and uniform consistency with very little effort.

The next step is to apply it to your desired destination! I chose to use this on my under eye area because I thought it would give you the best idea of how much coverage the two different concealer “recipes” provide– you can see the difference between the light/medium coverage option (with the moisturizer base) and the full coverage option (with the liquid foundation base) in the photo below!

Fuller Coverage

The same steps apply for the full coverage look, only substitute the Antioxidant Liquid Foundation for the moisturizer as your base, then add in your desired amount of powder concealer and mix it up– and you are ready to apply your customized concealer!

Finish it Off

I finished up by applying my Sensy Rich Foundation in Celina Nadine to my entire face to help tie the whole look together, and voíla! My completed full face of concealer + foundation.

 I wore this the whole day while running errands and going for a bike ride along the coast with my husband, and I can honestly say it held up beautifully throughout the whole day! It still looked awesome even after all of that, and it blended together seamlessly with both the concealer and foundation doing an awesome job all the day long.
