Yes, You Can Wear Green (with Video)
Neutral eye colors are fabulous for sure, and safe -- But sometimes, it's fun to take a risk and play with color!
With St. Patrick’s Day right around the corner, we wanted to celebrate with a post sharing some of our all time favorite green eyeshadows in the Simple Beauty Minerals lineup.
As we were pulling all of the mineral eyeshadows for this post, I realized I had never seen the so many of our green eyeshadows all together at once– and they looked so truly gorgeous all laid out in a bunch with each other, I had to include a few photos in here to share that with you, too!

A Green for Everyone!
From more subtle, dark, muted greens (like the sumptuous Envy, Pine mineral shadows) to vibrant, bright, and intense greens (Green Apple and Limeade!), or even gorgeously soft and delicate grees (like Sea Foam and Celery) and beyond– we have so many beautiful greens to choose from. For the look in today’s post, I kept things super simple and chose to use just one mineral shadow on my lid, and then add in another for an extra little pop of color on my lower lash line.

I use my Eyeshading Brush to apply my Envy Mineral Eye Shadow all over my lid, and then blended it out and up on the edges using my Fluffy Eye Shading Brush before going back in with my Eyeshading Brush again to apply Envy on my lids for a second time using the wet application method known as foiling. After I let that set, I went in with my Fluffy Eye Shading Brush once more to soften up the very outermost edges on the foiling ever so slightly by gently blending out until I had the look I wanted (don’t worry if you blend out too much, you can always re-apply a little more Envy on top to balance things out!).
Next, I went in with my Fine Angle Brush and added a little bit of my Green Apple Mineral EyeShadow right under my lower lash line. This really made my eyes pop, and added a subtle yet totally fun extra hint of color while balancing out the color on my lids. Adding a little pop of color to your lower lash line can be a fun and easy way to experiment with adding a little color into your everyday eye makeup without being too over the top all at once. It’s just one little extra step that is so easy to do. It’s especially easy with mineral eyeshadows because of how forgiving they are during application– no need to draw a perfectly straight line on your first go like with a liquid eyeliner or even a pencil liner. Simply add a little to you Fine Angle Brush, and smudge your way across your lower lash line (you can go slow at first, and then once you have the hang of it simply take it from there!). And, voìla– the perfect little pop of color (and how perfect for Spring is that!).
(Left to Right) Envy, Pine, Celery, Sea Foam, Twistin Teal, Limeade, Green Apple
And let's not forget Olive! To finish up my look I first cleaned up any fallout on my cheeks from applying my eyeshadows, and then applied the rest of my makeup as usual (My Embellish Pro-Aging Primer, Sensy Rich Foundation, Silk Finish Powder, Deep Earth Brow Powder, and a touch of Cocoa Rose Cheek Color on my cheek bones). For a finishing touch, I added a couple coats of Perfection Mineral Organic Lip Gloss to add just a hint of color and shine to my lips. I wanted to keep the rest of my look simple because since my eyes already had so much going on in the color department I didn’t want the rest of my look to be overwhelming so I balanced accordingly.
So, what are you waiting for? Now is the perfect time to get your hands on one of these gorgeous green mineral eye shadows to guarantee a pinch-free (but color-FULL!) St. Patty’s Day! ;)
And Lisa shows you a beautiful look for mature eyes featuring our luminous green, Celery.
