Why Use Red Light Therapy?
Red light therapy has been clinically proven to improve skin texture and tone, reduce inflammation, increase circulation, and promote healing.
It stimulates collagen production in the skin, which is essential for skin elasticity and firmness.
It also reduces inflammation, which causes redness and swelling in the skin.
If you have acne or rosacea, red light therapy can be especially helpful.
By increasing blood flow to the skin, it helps to deliver essential nutrients and oxygen to skin cells, resulting in an overall improvement in skin health and appearance.
What Is Red Light Therapy?
Red light therapy, also known as low-level light therapy (LLLT) or photobiomodulation therapy, is a non-invasive cosmetic treatment that you can do at home.
It uses red or near-infrared light to penetrate the skin at a low level. LightStim, in particular, penetrates up to 6 inches at a low intensity between the wavelengths of 660 to 890 nanometers.
During a red light therapy session, the light penetrates the skin and is absorbed by your cells, promoting cellular energy production, enhancing cellular repair, increasing blood flow, and reducing cellular inflammation.
This results in general skin rejuvenation and long-term maintenance, providing better skin for longer.
Why Choose LightStim?
There are many red light therapy devices available on the market, but LightStim stands out for several reasons.
- It is FDA-approved and backed by its own clinical studies.
- LightStim documents its wavelengths, which is crucial for ensuring the device's effectiveness.
- It is a targeted device, which means that you can focus on specific areas, such as a rosacea breakout or an acne breakout.
How to Use LightStim
Using LightStim is simple.
First, wash your face and prep your skin for the treatment.
You can wear a serum, but it should not contain active ingredients like retinoids or AHAs, BHAs, or PHAs. If you're unsure, just use it on clean, dry skin.
Next, plug in the device and hold it in place for three minutes.
When it beeps, move it to the next section.
Continue until you've treated your full face, neck, décolleté, and hands.
It takes about a Netflix show and a half to complete the treatment.
When you're done, finish with your serums, and evening routine.
Customer Questions
Some common customer questions I've received about LightStim include:
- Is LightStim safe? Yes, it is non-traumatic to the skin, painless, non-invasive, and safe, with absolutely no downtime.
- How often should I use LightStim? You can use it daily.
- When will I see results? Results may vary, but most people see improvement in their skin texture, tone, and radiance within four to eight weeks.
- Are there side effects? Hardly, but here's a few things for you to know: Initially you may experience mild redness, dryness or irritation after red light therapy, particularly at the onset. This is usually temporary and should resolve within a few hours. Any dryness should go away after the first week or so. If you're light sensitive, be sure to wear protective eye goggles. Red and infrared light was not been shown to cause any harm to the eyes during FDA Clinical Trials.
- Can I use along with botox and/or fillers? Yes!
- Can I use it on top of makeup? Nope!
- Can I use it on top of product? Yes and no. For example, our Vitamin C Serum, yes, but our Radiance Reveal, No. If you're unsure, use it on clean, dry skin.
Clinical Studies
Red light therapy has been clinically studied and shown to be effective for reducing wrinkles, improving skin texture and firmness, reducing redness, and promoting healing. Here are just a few studies:
