One of my favorite things about Summer is that the sun seems to never set. Just last week as Jack and I walked out of the movie theater a little after 9pm we were surprised to notice that the sky still wasn’t dark, and was still glowing with that beautiful, soft dusk light–
And Simple Beauty Minerals Dusk Blush truly just makes you think of those late, lingering summer evenings and that beautiful glow in the evening sky. It’s the perfect mix between a cool pink and a hint of purple with little flecks of shimmer sprinkled throughout (how gorgeous is that?!) and it offers you a buildable coverage for anything from a super light dusting of color to a more dramatic pink-y glow.

In fact, I’m bringing Dusk along with me to the Russian River (one of our favorite vacation spots located a few hours north of San Francisco in beautiful Sonoma County wine country!) later this Summer on a little getaway. I normally don’t wear too much makeup there since I’m always in the creek or the hot tub but I like to bring a little something for the nights when we walk into town for dinner, and I love how easy and airy Dusk is– I don’t need to have a full face of makeup on for it to compliment me and bring out a little shimmer and light in my face... plus, I can easily double it as my eyeshadow for a quick and super pretty Summer look!
For this look, pair Dusk Blush with the Satin Finish Powder (as a highlight) as well as SBM’s Red Plumand Bliss Mineral Eye Shadows– although you could definitely swap out Dusk with Red Plum for a slightly lighter look, or as a space-saving substitute for traveling purposes as well! To start, apply Red Plum all over your lids with the Eyeshading Brush– then blend Bliss into your brow bone and down into the inner corner of your eyes using the Mini Fluff brush.
Next, apply Dusk to your cheek bones using the Simple Beauty Minerals Perfect Blush Brush (which I just have to say is my absolute favorite blush brush of all time– especially for loose mineral blushes! It picks up the perfect amount of product, and it is so silky and soft– it feels like absolute heaven! Trust me– you need this brush in your life.)
