Here is how I got it mostly under control in 2 weeks and completely cleared in 3.
Use an oil-free, gentle cleanser twice a day. Avoid creamy, oily cleansers. Avoid harsh cleansers.
If you lean to oily, choose the Pink Mineral Cleansing Bar. If you lean to dry, choose the Essential Mineral Gel Cleanser, which is a gel-type and mildly foaming.
Follow with Clear Skin Serum to go deeper into your pores and exfoliate to keep them clear. It's a leave-on exfoliant that has a salicylic acid component, removing the dead skin cells from inside the pores and clearing congestion.
Finish up with retinol + moisturizer in the form of Behave 1% Retinol Moisturizing Lotion. Retinol will promote cell renewal, pushing dead cells and excess oil out of your blocked pores and it's the perfect compliment to Clear Skin Serum. It’s is also anti-inflammatory, which is crucial as acne is inflamed skin.
Moisturizer is important as acne treatment can be drying. Keep your cells hydrated.
For stubborn acne, add Benzoyl Peroxide into the mix. It is the gold standard for treating skin blemishes. It kills acne producing bacteria and helps reduce redness.
It IS drying.
It IS strong.
I don't carry it in the shop, but I can personally recommend it when it's needed.
So experiment with once a day, perhaps alternating with Clear Skin Serum.
Note: Benzoyl Peroxide will bleach any fabric it comes into contact with. Be very mindful of this.
Experiment. Use both Clear Skin Serum, Behave and the Benzoyl Peroxide twice a day. (This one will dry you out for sure, but is very effective at its job). Strive for some balance. Test and try. Alternate AM & PM application.
Remember your sunscreen every day!
Be patient. It takes time.
And there are so many different types and reasons for acne and breakouts. I hope this is your perfect solution.
