Adobe Blush "Holy Trinity" Beauty Hack

One of the best kept “secrets” of Simple Beauty Minerals mineral makeup is how amazingly versatile our multi-tasking minerals truly are. 

If you’ve been around on the Simple Beauty Blog for awhile, then you might have noticed I just can’t keep quiet about this one… but can you really blame me?

 

The Powder (whoops, I mean POWER) of 3

I like to think of it as the “holy trinity” of beauty hacks, because from just one jar of most any mineral makeup that your heart desires (blush, eyeshadow, even bronzers and highlighters!) can get you a minimum of 3-for-1 of an eye, lip, and cheek color– all from that same one mineral pigment! This can be a total time saver for those morning when you just need to get out of the door, they can be an awesome travel hack when you don’t want to stuff a million little bits and bobs into your travel makeup pouch (just bring one or two of your faves & you’ll be all set!), and this can even help to create a more streamlined and minimalist makeup routine for those of you who just want to simplify and refresh for each season.  In short it’s one of my favorite things about mineral makeup– and I think (if it isn’t already!) it just might become one of your favorite things about mineral makeup, too!

 

Featuring Adobe Mineral Blush

As example, let's showcase one of my favorite Simple Beauty Minerals blushes– the Adobe Cheek Color.

 Adobe Cheek Color swatches– a light dusting featured on the far left, through totally packed on featured on the far right; Adobe is a gorgeous shimmer blush with a neutral, easy-to-wear, glowy sheen that’s so versatile it can be worn by *any* skintone! Yes, you read that right– depending on how much or how little you apply, adobe will beautifully compliment any skintone from lightest to darkest. Pretty cool, right?

One of the things I love about Adobe is that it is super similar to my “holy grail” Simple Beauty Minerals bronzer(/blush), Natural Glow– except it’s shimmery! On days when I want a bit more shimmer and overall glow to my look, my go-to is always Adobe. I love that it gives me the subtle, gorgeous neutral glow that I love in Natural Glow, but that it adds in that extra punch with it’s beautiful shimmery finish.

Eyes. Lips. Cheeks.

The cool thing about using Adobe for your eyes, lips, and cheeks is that because it is a shimmer blush rather than a matte blush like Natural Glow, it is really going to add in that extra *pop* to your look– it instantly ups the glam factor while keeping the amount of time and effort in your 3-for-1 routine exactly the same! Don’t you love that?

 

Application Tips

To apply your “holy trinity” of Adobe, apply your foundation/concealer as you normally would, then simply brush the Adobe pigment onto your eyelids (dab just a tiny bit onto your eyeshadow brush for a super subtle shimmer, really pack it on by foiling it– or go anywhere in between!) and complete your “eyeshadow” look!

 Then, moving onto your lips, using a small flat brush to apply the pigment will work best. Alternately, you can use your finger as well, but for more clean cut lines a brush will come in handy!

 You can add a clear gloss over top to amp up the look, or simply leave it as is and just enjoy your new “lipstick”!

 For the last step, apply Adobe as you normally would and brush it onto your cheeks– I used the Perfect Blush Brush for mine (the name really says it all– it’s lush, soft, and applies the perfect amount of your mineral blush, blending it out seamlessly… ahh! It’s love!) 

Finish It Off

You can finish your look by adding eyeliner, mascara, or filling in your brows– or, if you’d prefer to leave it light and natural you can simply enjoy your gorgeous shimmery glow as-is! This method can be applied to any mineral makeup pigment you prefer– play around and see what works best for you! Starting out with a universally flattering shade like Adobe can help ease you into and then as you keep going and experimenting with different shades you can discover what you like best for different looks and occasions– all up to you!

Or, mix and match! If you like a color for eyes and lips but not cheeks, or for cheeks and eyes but not lips, etc.– do what works for you! Makeup is all about experimenting and discovering what makes you feel beautiful, so have fun with it– there are no rules! ;) Because makeup washes off at night.
