Best Eyeshadow Shades - simplebeautyminerals.com

Ever wonder what the best eyeshadow shades are for your eye color?

Depending on the color of your eyes, certain eyeshadows can really make them pop!

Using Color Theory - Create Contrast

With a little bit of color theory, you can easily discover your own personal best pairings. Color theory tells us that opposites pair well together, and can really bring out the best in each other. When looking at a color wheel, it’s easy to see which colors are opposite of each other…

So, it makes sense that the colors opposite the color of your eyes will be a great match and intensify your eyes.

Green Eyes

For example, if you have green eyes (like me) colors like purple, oranges (think terra cotta or copper), browns or even pinks and mauves will make a wonderful pairing and really bring out the color of your eyes. A couple of our favorites are Red Plum and Copper Mineral Eye Shadows.

Blue Eyes

For blue eyes colors like slate grey, light rose, browns, and earth tones will be sure winners.  Just a few of our favorites are Bliss Mineral Eye Shadow, Silver Taupe Mineral Eye Shadow, and Sable Mineral Shadow.

Brown Eyes

And when it comes to brown eyes? (You lucky duck, you). Anything goes! Blues, greens, pinks, gold shimmer… Or any of the above. (Check out this tutorial for a gorgeous mineral shadow look featuring a green and gold duo here!). A few fun favorites are Golden Glam Mineral Eye Shadow, Princess Mineral Eye Shadow, Celery Mineral Eye Shadow, and Blue Opal Mineral Eye Shadow.

Hazel Eyes

Ooh la la. If you want to enhance the brown of your hazel eyes, go for browns, golds (think sunflowers), and greens. If you’d like to highlight the green and gold of your eyes, try bronze or eggplant shades.

Color Outside the Lines

Of course, just because you have a certain eye color doesn’t mean you can’t wear a certain color of eyeshadow. For example, if you have blue eyes and really love to wear pink eyeshadow, this doesn’t mean you are limited to only the aforementioned colors and can never wear pinks!

However, the colors that play up their opposite nature to your eyes will really play up your eyes and make your natural color truly stand out...

I chose to show a look featuring Red Plum Mineral Eye Shadow (a beautiful purple toned eyeshadow) and Hot Cocoa Mineral Eye Shadow on one eyelid, and Copper Mineral Eye Shadowwith Champagne Ice Mineral Eye Shadow as a highlight on my other eyelid. This can give you an example of both an orange-toned look and a purple-toned look with a soft brown crease on green eyes.
